Tokimeki Memorial Girl’s Side 3rd Story, Karen/Bambi, sleepover, 80 words
"Is this okay?" Bambi looks sheepish about the arrangement; two pillows side by side, a shared duvet atop a shared futon.
Karen is quiet for a while, carefully choosing her words; she doesn't yet recognize the difference between exceptional treatment and this warm feeling in her chest, but feels like it's coming into focus-- something to the left of "special".
An earnest smile graces her face as she slips between the covers to rest alongside her friend, "Something like that."
Kaiji Ultimate Survivor, Kaiji, me and all these other dice bouncing around in the cup, 69 words
Kaiji looks at a new room filled with the same faces and just sees dice bouncing around in some other man's cup-- a means to an end, disposable entertainment to be tossed around and thrown away. The sum of their parts keep this fucked up machine running, its gears regularly switched out for something shinier and more stupid. He can't really fault 'em, though-- he's here too, after all.
Birdhouse in Your Soul - They Might Be Giants, Freeform, Any, 75 words
The glow is a friend to me, no really, I can prove it-- love is in persistence, you see, measured by consistency over time (I cheated on every math test but I remember that part). You need that sort of thing, a stable foundation, to really build something important; that's the first thing they teach you about construction, give or take. We build something bigger than ourselves, around ourselves, to contain ourselves-- call it "home".
